Sciton Halo™ Hybrid
Fractional Laser
If you are interested in treating complexion concerns such as fine lines, discoloration, and dull or uneven skin tone, it can be challenging to find a treatment that is highly effective but doesn’t require significant downtime. Now, Dr. Louis P. Bucky, and the team at Bucky Plastic Surgery, are thrilled to offer the advanced technology of the Sciton Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser. Halo is an innovative procedure that offers deep dermal rejuvenation that is fully customizable to treat a wide range of concerns without the long recovery period of more aggressive lasers.
What is a hybrid fractional laser?
With the introduction of Halo, Sciton has delivered the world’s first hybrid fractional laser. Previously, the laser treatments available to patients were either ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers are very effective at improving skin texture and tone, but they aren’t ideal for anti-aging concerns and they render significant downtime. Non-ablative lasers are effective at treating wrinkles and acne scarring, but they require a series of many treatments for best results. As a hybrid fractional laser, Halo’s unique combination of both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths minimizes downtime while delivering the benefits of each type of laser. Halo utilizes an ablative erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet laser and a diode non-ablative laser. This technology enables us to treat multiple concerns to renew skin and give you a youthful glow with minimal downtime.
Benefits of the Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser
The dynamic properties of Halo allow us to address multiple skin concerns with a single treatment. Halo can offer patients many benefits, including:
- Reduce the appearance of large pores
- Diminish discoloration and acne scars
- Reverse sun damage
- Eliminate fine lines and wrinkles
- Renew skin tone and texture
- Restore a youthful glow
- Yields minimal downtime
- Can be used on almost any area, including face, hands, and decolletage
What happens during a Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser Treatment?
A numbing cream will be applied to your face prior to treatment to ensure your comfort. In addition to the topical anesthetic, Halo utilizes integrated cooling technology to minimize discomfort. Patients typically feel a heated sensation with mild prickling. The length of treatment will depend on your personalized treatment plan.
Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser Results
Halo is fully customizable and during your consultation, your aesthetician will discuss your goals in order to personalize your Halo treatment to your specific concerns. No matter what your objectives are, you can expect comprehensive skin rejuvenation with Halo. Depending on your individual goals, your treatment plan may involve a single treatment or a series of treatments.
You will experience your initial Halo glow within days of your first treatment, and your complexion will continue to improve from there. Patients typically see significant improvement in pigmentation and tone 2 to 3 weeks after their Halo treatment, followed by more gradual improvement as the dermal layers regenerate.
Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser Recovery
You should expect to experience some redness and swelling immediately after treatment and you’ll be instructed to protect your skin for 24 hours. Many patients choose to take 1 day off for treatment, but downtime is very minimal compared to the 5-7 days needed for ablative resurfacing. You will be able to wear makeup 24 hours after treatment. Patients typically have a lightly bronzed appearance for a few days and then experience peeling on the 3rd or 4th day after treatment as the newly rejuvenated skin is revealed.
How Much Does Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser Treatment Cost?

Your treatment type and the number of treatments will be tailored to meet your goals and fit your lifestyle. We offer several financing options in order to help you fit your aesthetic needs into your budget including PatientFi™, Care Credit®, and ALPHAEON™ Credit.
