Preparing for Your Injectable Treatment
Preparing for your injectable treatment at Bucky Plastic Surgery is straightforward. We recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, Advil, Motrin and Aleve) and supplements (including fish oil and omega 3’s) for at least a week before your appointment. It is advisable to avoid alcoholic beverages 24-48 hours before your appointment and to avoid exercise the day of your visit. On the day of your treatment, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Our team will provide specific instructions tailored to your treatment plan during your consultation.

Injectable treatments at Bucky Plastic Surgery are designed to be quick and comfortable. Most sessions take just 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the areas treated. A comfort menu designed to improve your injection experience is offered. A topical anesthetic can be applied and a selection of distraction devices like a gentle massage tool or a squeeze ball may be utilized to minimize discomfort. Our skilled injectors will carefully select the most current techniques and administer the products safely, ensuring optimal placement for the most natural-looking results.
Injectables Recovery & Results
Recovery from injectable treatment is typically minimal, and symptoms resolve within a few hours to a few days depending on procedure. Some patients may experience mild redness, swelling, or some bruising at the injection sites. Results can be seen immediately, though full results will develop over the following 1-2 weeks. Depending on the product used, the effects can last from several months to over a year. Follow-up treatments are encouraged to maintain your goals and desired outcome.
FAQs About Injectables
Good candidates for injectable treatments are individuals looking for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Injectables can be an excellent option for those wanting to correct fine lines and facial folds, restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, create a more contoured nose or fuller lips. If you’re seeking a quick and effective way to refresh your appearance without the need for surgery, injectables may be the ideal solution.
At Bucky Plastic Surgery, we are committed to providing personalized care that meets each patient’s unique needs and aesthetic goals. Injectables can be effectively combined with other treatments, such as different dermal fillers or neuromodulators, to enhance your overall results. While hyaluronic acid fillers are perfect for smoothing creases and adding volume, other treatments with neuromodulators (like BOTOX®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, Daxxify® and Xeomin®) can be used to address dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. Additionally, procedures like laser skin resurfacing, microneedling with radiofrequency or chemical peels can be combined with injectables to target fine lines and improve skin texture, offering a more comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.
Injectable treatments are typically quick, with most sessions lasting between 30-45 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.
You can expect to see results almost immediately after your injectable filler treatments, with full effects realized in two weeks. Neuromodulators will take a few days to begin to affect the underlying muscles and up to 2 weeks to visualize their full effect.
The longevity of injectable results varies depending on the product used and the area treated. Generally, results can last anywhere from six months to two years.
Injectables have minimal recovery time. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment, though we suggest refraining from vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after your procedure. Some may experience mild redness or swelling at the injection sites, these typically resolve in a few hours to a few days.
Side effects from injectables are typically mild and may include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects usually resolve within a few days.2
