I recently had the opportunity to travel overseas to lecture at “Plastic Surgery at the Red Sea”, which is an international aesthetic conference hosted every two years by the Israel Society for Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery. The topics of my presentations centered around facelift surgery and large volume fat grafting to the breasts, two areas in which I have extensive knowledge and expertise.
From day one it was apparent that everyone at the conference was truly eager to learn, which made lecturing especially enjoyable. During my facelift presentation, I was able to discuss how traditional schools of thought on facial/neck rejuvenation have evolved over the years, and I explained that aesthetic concerns of the neck can often be addressed by employing the proper facelift technique as opposed to targeting the face and neck separately. With the growing popularity of fat transfer, my two other lectures were also well received. Large volume fat grafting has continually proven to fit unmet needs in cosmetic surgery, and I touched on how this revolutionary technique can enhance outcomes for both revision breast surgery and augmentation mastopexy.
Though professional in nature, the atmosphere of “Plastic Surgery at the Red Sea” felt casual and relaxed, helping to promote stimulating and progressive conversation between both presenters and attendees. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the conference, and I look forward to going back in the years to come.
