Neck and Jawline Treatments
The accumulation of tissue underneath the chin is a common concern for many men and women. Frequently, the area under the chin is due to excess fat. Despite numerous attempts at a healthy diet and regular exercise, this stubborn fat buildup—commonly referred to as a “double chin”—tends to remain unchanged. In addition to submental fat, many individuals experience loose, sagging skin and muscle in the neck region. “Tech Neck” is a major aesthetic focus today with the advent of the “selfies” and our scrutinization of every angle of our profiles, as well as the mere effect of having our heads lowered a majority of the day looking at our phones, tablets and laptops.

CoolSculpting® with CoolMini™
CoolMini™ is an innovative new CoolSculpting® applicator recently cleared by the U.S. Food Drug Administration (FDA) to non-surgically contour the neck and reduce fat underneath the chin. This non-invasive treatment uses controlled cooling to freeze targeted fat cells while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. Ultimately the fat cells dissolve and are expelled from the body via natural processes, revealing a slimmer, more toned appearance. Direct Skin Excision for Male Necks
Many men are troubled by the loose skin of their necks. Oftentimes, referred to as a turkey neck. The excess hanging skin can be treated by direct excision and a z-plasty technique to help minimize the scar. This technique can be performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation and is very well tolerated
Dilute Fat Grafting
Many individuals have neck concerns that are due to an absence of neck fat, rather than too much neck fat. These individuals typically present with thin, crepey, wrinkled skin. Dr. Bucky has developed a minimally invasive technique that uses the patient’s own specially processed fat to improve the appearance of the skin and naturally regenerate the surrounding tissues. While lifting alone cannot adequately address this concern, regenerative fat grafting can restore smooth, youthful looking skin unlike any other procedure. Regenerative fat grafting can be performed with the exact procedure or a traditional facelift. Occasionally, it can be performed in isolation through micro incisions and a minimal recovery.

Cleared by the FDA, this minimally invasive skin resurfacing technique is used to deliver controlled heat into the dermis through several tiny micro-needles. The heat effectively triggers the natural growth of new collagen and elastin, both of which can help improve the skin’s health and appearance for a tightened, more toned aesthetic in the under-chin and neck region. The majority of individuals are able to resume regular routines and activities soon after treatment, though significant sun exposure as well as the application of makeup and certain ointments should be avoided for approximately 24 hours to help protect the skin.
