In this day and age, I feel that any patient considering a breast augmentation should clearly understand the benefits and risks associated with the procedure, as well as what to expect throughout every step of the process. As I tend to speak in very scientific terms when discussing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, my team and I thought it would be a great idea to put together a comprehensive resource for breast augmentation, written in a language patients can easily relate to. With the help of my dedicated nursing staff, we’ve composed a guide for the entire breast augmentation process based on common concerns and feedback we’ve received from patients over the years.
In my experience, there is a direct correlation between the amount of information a patient has access to prior to surgery and the level of success and satisfaction achieved after surgery. For breast augmentation, a great deal of this postsurgical success stems from understanding one’s own limits and being provided the opportunity to actively participate in all aspects of the decision making process, most notably implant selection and incision location.
We designed our breast augmentation guide to serve as an educational tool to help patients develop realistic expectations for their breast enhancement surgery. Throughout the guide, we cover everything prospective patients need to know about breast augmentation, including: tips for choosing a surgeon; considerations for a breast lift; details of our innovative techniques; keys to a quicker recovery; and a number of frequently asked questions. We also explain why selecting the right size and shape for your breast implants is so important, and we highlight how 3D imaging can help you make these crucial decisions in a highly informed manner.
