Kim Ragone has worked with Dr. Bucky since 2000. Kimmi is the Director of Skin Care and Injectable Services, as well as being a clinical nurse. Her extensive plastic surgery experience provided her with the foundation to become a superb nurse and nurse injector. She led our OR team in caring for cosmetic and reconstructive patients during their surgical experience.

Kim transitioned from the operating room to the office setting and became a clinical aesthetician. She treated patients with a wide variety of techniques including microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. Armed with expertise in the entire spectrum of plastic surgery, she became certified as a clinical nurse injector for BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers. Her plastic surgery and skin care education—combined with her ‘aesthetic eye’ and her soft touch—have made her ideally suited to be an excellent injector. Kimmi has developed advanced techniques under the guidance of Dr. Bucky and other leaders in the field. Her background with both surgical and non-surgical procedures provides the basis for expert consultations.

Kimmi received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Thomas Jefferson University and sees patients at our city office. Over the last two years, Kim taught other nurses and physicians the art and science of clinical injection techniques. Kimmi has instructed the Penn Plastic Surgery residents on the art and science of fillers and Botox®. She has also been an invited lecturer for the Society of Plastic Surgical Skincare Specialists on Advanced Injection Techniques and the Pearls and Pitfalls of Injecting.

Valerie has worked with our board-certified plastic surgeon as a registered nurse since 2006, and is the Director of Clinical Nursing as well as a highly skilled nurse injector. Valerie has worked side by side with Dr. Bucky in all aspects of the surgical practice. This has allowed to her have excellent knowledge of surgery as well as understand the natural aging changes of the face and body. Valerie is known for her calm nature as well as her gentle touch. “It’s important to me that when patients leave our office, their questions are answered.

Valerie understands plastic surgery from the patient’s perspective which makes her a great advocate. She will meet with you at your consultation with Dr. Bucky, help you to prepare for your surgery, and take very specialized care of you following surgery. She will be there for you through your whole process. She notes the enjoyment that she derives from seeing plastic surgery improve the patient’s appearance as well as their self-esteem.

Valerie joined the Dr. Bucky team in 2006 from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital where she specialized in cardiology. She graduated from Drexel School of Nursing in 1992 and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Valerie has a thorough understanding of facial aesthetics. She is considered a leader in aesthetic injections and was personally picked to be an ACE trainer for Allergan, Inc, the makers of BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVEDERM®, and LATISSE®. This entails training doctors and nurse injectors on how to improve their injection technique. Only those providers who have shown the highest level of expertise and have demonstrated a true understanding of facial anatomy and aging are able chosen for this program. She was also hand-picked to assist the world renowned Dr. Mauricio DiMaio for Allergan Master Course in Injectable Training. Valerie is known for her knowledge of facial aging and a natural result.

Kate Lynch, RN earned her Associates of Science in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Merchandising from Drexel University. Since 2009, Kate has worked in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, aesthetic skin care procedures and dermal fillers. In addition, she is a Bellafill® specialist, which is a revolutionary injectable treatment designed to minimize the appearance of acne scars and various other cosmetic facial concerns.

Aesthetic skincare and laser therapy treatments have become the perfect specialty for Kate, combining her appreciation of the fine arts and enthusiasm for science. She is extremely passionate about her work, and her commitment to providing the highest level of patient care is demonstrated not only through the strong relationships she has built with patients, but also in the quality of results she has helped them attain. “I love getting to know patients on a personal level,” she says.

Kate is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses, and she presented at the ASPSN 2014 National Meeting in Chicago. She maintains her certification as an Aesthetic Nurse Specialists (CANS)and was voted “Best of Bucks Nurse 2014” by The Intelligencer.

Luke is an experienced Nurse Injector, as well as the Certified CoolSculpting and MiraDry Coordinator at Bucky Plastic Surgery. Luke brings a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for aesthetic improvement to our practice. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelors of science degree in Health and Physical Activity and went on to earn his bachelors of nursing degree at Duquesne University and gain clinical experience at The University of Pennsylvania. He offers a range of injectable anti-aging treatments, including BOTOX, Jeuveau, and Dysport.

Luke enjoys developing a connection with his patients and he makes it a priority to ensure a positive experience for every patient. His outgoing personality helps him to put patients at ease and share his in-depth knowledge of aesthetic procedures. Patients who have the opportunity to work with Luke appreciate his attention to detail and they are thrilled with the beautiful, natural-looking results that he delivers.

Alexa Borodiak, MPAS, PA-C, is a highly skilled and board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in aesthetic medicine. Her expertise includes injectables, cutting-edge laser treatments, radiofrequency microneedling, microcoring and scar management therapy. She is certified with Allergan, Galderma, Evolus, Sciton, Inmode, Endymed, Cytrellis among other companies.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Biological Studies and Health Professions, Alexa spent years focusing on medical and cosmetic dermatology before she furthered her education at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, earning her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Driven by her dual passions for patient care and skincare, Alexa transitioned to Bucky Plastic Surgery, where she provides an elevated patient experience and achieves exceptional skincare results.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alexa deeply values the relationships she builds with her patients and takes pride in putting their needs first. With her knowledge, passion and positive energy, Alexa strives to deliver outstanding results every single time.

Alexa is committed to staying at the forefront of her field, continually seeking opportunities for advanced training and education to provide her patients with the most innovative treatments available. Alexa’s unwavering commitment to excellence in aesthetic medicine is exemplified by her recent achievement as a national trainer for the Ellacor micro-coring device, the latest advancement in skincare technology. She is also an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants.

Kenny brings a vibrant enthusiasm to Bucky Plastic Surgery and Bucky Body Center as a Physician Assistant. Committed to achieving the best outcomes for his patients, he approaches the surgical process with a holistic perspective. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Thomas Jefferson University, Kenny joined Dr. Bucky’s team in the operating room. With his calm and reassuring demeanor, he exemplifies exceptional patient care, ensuring that every individual receives the high-quality attention they deserve.

With 10+ years of experience in medical aesthetics, Tara has cultivated a vast knowledge in skincare and laser technologies. After working in Endocrinology and utilizing cosmetic lasers to assist in the treatment of hirsutism she decided to change fields and was fortunate to find a home with Dr Bucky.

Through her own personal struggle with cystic acne as a young adult, it has since become her primary objective to deliver safe, effective, result-driven treatments that go above and beyond patient expectations.

Tara is an active volunteer for the “Look Good Feel Better” program with the American Cancer Society and continues to attend advanced laser training seminars throughout the country.

Amanda joins Bucky Plastic Surgery at the Ardmore office with a decade of experience working in dermatology, luxury and medical spa environments. As a graduate from the Jean Madeline Institute in Philadelphia, Amanda’s innate passion for beauty and healthy, glowing skin has gained her extensive experience over the years in treating a variety of skin types and conditions through the latest technologies in laser, anti-aging and body contouring treatments.

Michelle Martin-Thomas, RN, LE is a passionate and highly skilled professional in the field of aesthetics and a trusted skincare problem solver. As a Registered Nurse and licensed aesthetician, Michelle has dedicated her career to blending science-backed techniques with a warm, friendly approach, all while helping individuals regain their confidence through clear, radiant skin.

Michelle’s personal experience with acne during her teenage and young adult years, along with the subsequent scarring it left behind, ignited her deep-rooted interest in skincare. Driven by her newfound skincare curiosity and passion, Michelle enrolled in the prestigious Jean Madeline Aveda Institute for Cosmetology, focusing her studies on aesthetics. After completing her training as a registered nurse and graduating with honors, she has honed her expertise and received comprehensive training and certifications on various aesthetic laser, light, and energy-based platforms, working in some of the most esteemed spas and clinics in Philadelphia, New York, and Charlotte, over the past 25 years.

With her extensive training, she has skillfully and safely performed a wide range of treatments, including fractional laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, laser hair removal, skin tightening, laser vein removal, and fat reduction procedures. Additionally, Michelle has attained advanced certifications in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, microcurrent techniques, and microneedling.

Michelle Martin-Thomas is an unwavering advocate for helping individuals achieve their skincare goals, restoring their self-assurance, and promoting a positive sense of well-being. With her wealth of knowledge, experience, and genuine passion for science-backed skincare, Michelle continues to transform lives one radiant complexion at a time.

Monette Solomon BSN, RN has been a surgical nurse for almost 20 years having worked in some of Philadelphia’s most renowned trauma, surgical ICUs and post-anesthesia care units. She has been working with Dr. Bucky for years as a nurse in the recovery room and joined his Recovery Program as one of his highly skilled and dedicated overnight nurses.

Being a part of this integral team under Dr. Bucky, her love of nursing and aesthetic medicine motivated her to start her aesthetic career working at med-spas providing laser and injectable treatments. Monette has attended several private and group trainings with top aesthetic medical providers to stay current with best evidenced-based practices and to develop and enhance her skills.

Her passion for helping others look and feel their best drives her to constantly improve her skills and expand her knowledge in the field of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. She takes pride in building trusting relationships with her patients and delivering exceptional care that exceeds their expectations. Monette is excited to bring this dynamic into her clinical practice at Bucky Plastic Surgery.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Rutgers University and is in pursuit of being a nurse practitioner, currently earning her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati.

With over 20 years of distinguished experience as a licensed massage therapist, Beatrice Smith is an invaluable member of our team. Her career has spanned Philadelphia’s most prestigious hotel spas and exclusive massage studios, where her skills have been sought after by A-list celebrities, world-class athletes, and those seeking personalized care.

Beatrice has developed a unique hands-on method tailored to each patient’s needs. While she excels in deep tissue massage, focusing on realigning body patterns and pain management, she is also adept in various other techniques. Her journey into manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) began out of a desire to assist patients dealing with lymphedema, expanding her expertise to provide comprehensive care.

Her massage therapy approach is deeply client-focused. Beatrice listens carefully to her patients’ preferences while intuitively responding to their body’s signals. This dual attention allows her to create a massage experience that meets both their desires and physical needs using a range of modalities.

Beatrice champions the idea that massage therapy is an essential component of a regular wellness routine, not just an occasional luxury. She trained at the Pennsylvania School of Massage Therapy and is certified in manual lymphatic drainage from the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. Additionally, she holds a BA in Business Administration/Economics from Clark Atlanta University, blending professional insight with therapeutic expertise in her practice.
